About the role
- Personal finance advisor building client relationships for Desjardins, a financial services cooperative. Recommending investments, loans, and insurance solutions aligned with members’ financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain lasting, trusting business relationships with members and clients
- Listen to members’ and clients’ needs and provide advice suited to their financial situation
- Help members and clients choose appropriate solutions to meet their financial goals
- Advise on strategies and identify expected results
- Manage business relationships and assess member/client satisfaction and service quality
- Follow up and identify areas for improvement
- Recommend investments, loans and insurance products
- Balance member/client satisfaction, business objectives, profitability and prudent risk management
- Work with partners and experts to design integrated strategies
- Stay up-to-date on financial services industry developments, market trends and best practices
- Participate in outreach activities and represent the caisse in the community
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Mutual fund representative certificate – Autorité des marchés financiers
- Knowledge of current financial, economic, political and legislative events
- Knowledge of all products and services aimed at caisse members and those offered by Desjardins Business Centres, Desjardins components and distribution networks, and competitors
- Knowledge of debt management
- Notions of compliance with legislation respecting the distribution of financial products and services
- Understanding of the philosophy and fundamentals of financial services cooperatives
- Knowledge of policies, legislation and standards related to products and services offered by the caisse
- Knowledge of Desjardins business processes and service standards
- Knowledge of techniques used to assess and monitor individual financing applications
