About the role
- Senior financial disclosure advisor supporting Desjardins’s accounting, tax and regulatory reporting. Leading complex initiatives, controls and stakeholder recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients and partners on positioning, planning, development, execution and monitoring of strategic projects and initiatives involving financial, regulatory, tax and accounting reporting
- Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs supporting strategic projects and initiatives
- Identify, analyze and diagnose major issues
- Make recommendations to decision-making bodies
- Conduct specialized and complex analysis for projects and initiatives impacting the organization
- Prepare reports and specialized documents
- Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure accounting data and financial statement integrity and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with regulations, financial governance rules, and tax and accounting standards
- Represent Desjardins’s position in agreements with external partners and organizations
- Serve as specialist advisor, subject matter expert, resource person and coach for decision-making bodies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of six years of relevant experience
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- CPA designation
- Knowledge of French is required
