About the role
- Senior legal advisor supporting Desjardins Group procurement and technology transactions. Drafting agreements, interpreting regulations, and coordinating external counsel.
Responsibilities
- Issue legal opinions, and draft and validate business agreements that have an impact on the organization
- Analyze, interpret and monitor changes to applicable legislation and regulations
- Participate in representing the organization or negotiating with external organizations or partners
- Coordinate mandates entrusted to outside attorneys
- Help draft files for the organization's decision-making bodies
- Provide legal support to procurement, technological and digital development teams during the acquisition or deployment of products and services within Desjardins Group components
- Help protect the organization's legal interests and ensure compliance with laws
- Ensure the organization's rights are protected and obligations are met
- Represent the organization in situations involving its legal interests
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law
- A minimum of six years of relevant experience, including two years in the field of information technology
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Member of the Quebec Bar
- Knowledge of French is required
- Advanced proficiency of English is required due to the nature of the duties or work tools or interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
