About the role
- Senior compliance advisor designing legal and regulatory frameworks for Desjardins, North America’s largest cooperative financial group. Leading organization-wide initiatives, policies, and strategic compliance programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead specialized development projects, initiatives and activities that significantly impact the entire organization
- Design, update, implement and monitor complex action plans, programs, solutions and tools related to legal and regulatory compliance
- Advise clients and partners on positioning, planning, development, execution and monitoring of strategic projects and initiatives
- Identify, analyze and diagnose major issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies
- Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support strategic projects and initiatives
- Offer legal and regulatory compliance programs to internal employees to promote the organization’s culture of ethics and compliance
- Represent the unit before decision-making bodies
- Represent Desjardins’s position when making agreements with external partners and organizations
- Serve as specialist advisor, subject matter expert, resource person and coach for decision-making bodies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of six years of relevant experience
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Knowledge of French is required
- Extensive knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance
- Ability to conduct comprehensive analysis and understand the organization and line of business
