About the role

  • Conseiller juridique chez Devimco, promoteur immobilier québécois. Rédaction contractuelle, gestion des litiges et soutien réglementaire en immobilier et construction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and strategic support to the organization’s various business units
  • Draft, negotiate, and interpret contracts related to the real estate and construction sectors, including ACC and CCDC contracts
  • Participate in drafting and negotiating various types of contracts and related contractual documents
  • Prepare and review deeds, agreements, confidentiality agreements, account-opening documents, and corporate documents
  • Coordinate the work of external legal counsel as needed and follow up on mandates
  • Advise internal teams on legal issues related to construction projects and contractual relationships
  • Actively manage construction and real estate management litigation
  • Assess risks, develop settlement strategies, and coordinate matters with external counsel
  • Handle information requests, claims, and interventions from organizations including the CCQ, CNESST, and RBQ
  • Collaborate on implementing and maintaining practices related to personal information protection and compliance with Law 25
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in the company’s areas of activity

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law
  • Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in private practice or in-house
  • Relevant experience in construction law, real estate law, and civil and commercial litigation
  • Knowledge of the regulatory frameworks applicable to the real estate and construction sectors
