About the role

  • Operational Analyst co-op analyzing operational and financial data for Dexterra Group’s Remote Hospitality West operations. Building dashboards, identifying efficiencies, and translating productivity insights into savings.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify cost drivers, trends, and efficiency opportunities across operations
  • Perform comparative and trend analysis, including period-over-period and cross-site analysis, to uncover performance gaps and anomalies
  • Analyze labour productivity metrics and develop productivity benchmarks and performance models
  • Support analysis of revenue, costs, and overall performance across sites or service lines
  • Connect operational activity to financial outcomes and translate data into meaningful business insights
  • Translate productivity improvements into cost savings and margin enhancement, including EBITDA impact
  • Partner with Finance to understand P&L drivers and support pricing and commercial estimation using productivity benchmarks
  • Build and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and trackers
  • Standardize key metrics and reporting approaches across datasets and business areas
  • Improve data quality, structure, and usability
  • Leverage advanced Excel and analytics tools to model operational and labour performance
  • Apply generative AI tools to enhance insight generation
  • Translate analysis into actionable recommendations that improve operational efficiency and cost performance
  • Support process improvements, pilot initiatives, and outcome tracking
  • Collaborate with Operations and Finance teams to validate insights and support implementation
  • Communicate insights to operational and executive audiences as an analytical partner to Operations leaders

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Data/Analytics, or related program
  • Must be a college or university student and planning to return to academic studies upon completion of the co-op work term
  • Experience or coursework in financial or operational analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel, Power BI, or dashboarding experience preferred
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and operational reports
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI to support data analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • SQL or data querying experience nice to have
  • Interest in hospitality, logistics, or multi-site operations nice to have
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platform nice to have
  • Experience with OneStream or similar corporate performance management software nice to have
  • Ability to work standard 40-hour weekdays
