About the role

  • People Operations Generalist managing HR operations, workplace safety, benefits, and compliance for innovative playground builder Earthscape Play. Supporting employees, leaders, and scalable people systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date people documentation, processes, and standards aligned with provincial and federal legislation
  • Keep employee records organized and accurate across Breezy ATS and Acumatica ERP
  • Support the upcoming 2027 HRIS implementation
  • Support employee immigration processes, including LMIA applications and Permanent Residency support
  • Lead Health & Safety reporting, JHSC initiatives, accessibility, and workplace safety programs across all locations
  • Oversee WSIB/claims case management, return-to-work programs, and medical leaves of absence
  • Administer extended health and dental benefits and answer team questions
  • Administer market compensation practices and maintain a competitive, consistent, transparent, and fair total rewards structure
  • Serve as a neutral employee-relations contact; triage concerns, document issues, guide leaders, and ensure fair follow-through
  • Administer engagement surveys, pulse checks, and exit interviews
  • Analyze patterns and translate data into thematic insights and actionable recommendations for leadership
  • Coordinate interview scheduling, offer letter generation, background checks, system access setup, and new-hire paperwork
  • Maintain performance tools, competency models, and appraisal workflows
  • Support managers with performance development plans and benchmark tracking

Requirements

  • 5+ years in progressive HR/People roles
  • Proven experience managing core HR operations, employee relations, and administrative systems within a growing organization
  • Active experience participating in or co-chairing a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC)
  • Experience leading workplace inspections and managing incident reporting/WSIB claims
  • Knowledge of Ontario employment standards and legislation, specifically the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and Human Rights Code
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, shop, or skilled trades environment is a strong asset
  • CHRP / CHRL designation or working toward it is a strong asset
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee situations, confidential data, and performance matters with discretion, empathy, and fairness
  • Successful candidates may be required to consent to relevant pre-employment background checks
