About the role

  • AWS Virtual Workplace Engineer designing and operating high-performance virtual desktops for ELITS Canada’s enterprise customers. Supporting engineering workloads, AWS integrations, troubleshooting, monitoring, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, configure, and support AWS-based virtual desktop environments for engineering and high-performance user workloads
  • Build and maintain high-performance virtual desktop solutions supporting graphics-intensive applications, engineering tools, and demanding compute requirements
  • Optimize platform performance across compute, graphics processing, storage, networking, and user experience
  • Support integration with identity, access management, security, storage, and enterprise network environments
  • Troubleshoot performance, availability, connectivity, and application issues across the virtual desktop platform
  • Monitor platform health, capacity, cost, and service availability, and recommend improvements
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, configurations, and operational procedures
  • Collaborate with ELITS colleagues, customer stakeholders, cloud teams, infrastructure teams, and technical users
  • Own technical outcomes and contribute to standards, operational excellence, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent applicable experience
  • Expert-level experience designing, implementing, and supporting Virtual Engineering Workplace or virtual desktop infrastructure solutions
  • Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud services and enterprise cloud environments
  • Experience delivering high-performance virtual desktop environments for engineering, design, graphics-intensive, or high-performance workloads
  • Strong understanding of virtual desktop performance, including compute, graphics processing units, storage, networking, latency, and capacity
  • Experience with Amazon WorkSpaces, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), or similar AWS-hosted desktop solutions
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and customer-facing skills
  • Comfortable supporting complex enterprise workplace environments and adapting to customer and project requirements
  • Open to Canadian residents and individuals with a valid work permit in Canada
