About the role

  • Engineer-in-Training supporting planning, estimates, risk, schedules, and pre-sanction development for Enbridge gas and liquids pipeline projects. Hybrid role based in Edmonton or Calgary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering support in Core Projects throughout planning, design, cost estimating, risk assessment, schedule development, and pre-sanction stages
  • Support projects primarily for the Gas and Liquids Pipeline business units
  • Manage stakeholders appropriately
  • Determine preliminary regulatory requirements
  • Complete front-end engineering and designs
  • Develop cost estimates and project execution strategies
  • Develop realistic and reliable project schedules and cost estimates
  • Define risks, uncertainties, and likelihood for project schedules and cost estimates
  • Develop charters for Rough Order of Magnitude to Class 3 scope, supported by estimates and schedules
  • Provide formal and informal project management reporting to Senior Management and stakeholders
  • Travel up to 10% to Enbridge offices, operating facilities, construction sites, and supplier facilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Registered or eligible to register as an Engineer-In-Training in Alberta with APEGA
  • 2–4 years of related experience in oil and gas engineering, operations, project management, and/or project development
  • Oil and gas experience is an asset
  • Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication between all team members
  • Project management skills to prepare projects to move from development to sanction/execution
  • Ability to work independently, self-prioritize, and handle changing priorities and work tasks
  • Valid passport to travel and work between Canada and the US
  • Legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located without employment-based sponsorship
  • Ability to complete background screenings, including a 5-year driving record check, criminal check, and company-sponsored medical
