Responsibilities

Provide independent financial analysis, advice, and support to business partners and senior management.
Manage the schedule and activities related to the external audit and provide supporting documentation to auditors in a timely manner.
Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly financial statements.
Participate in the month-end close process by approving certain journal entries and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures through financial and variance analysis.
Develop and improve internal and external reports, including accurate explanations of variances.
Implement tools and procedures to analyze financial results and prepare various reports.
Participate in the development and improvement of internal controls.
Implement financial statement adjustments resulting from the external audit.
Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement and advise the Finance team on tax, pension plans, and other complex accounting matters.
Participate in corporate projects requiring support from Finance and collaborate with corporate departments to explain financial results.
Support the Business Financial Analyst in developing, reviewing, and maintaining financial models for new projects and business development initiatives.
Assess the alignment of new projects and initiatives with the company’s overall strategy.
Advise project development and corporate teams on investment review practices and capital allocation approval processes.

Professional accounting designation or certification required.
At least 4 years of relevant experience.
Fluency in spoken and written French, as well as reading comprehension.
Strong spoken and written English skills, as well as reading comprehension.
Knowledge and understanding of accounting practices; knowledge of U.S. GAAP is an asset.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent analytical, summarization, and writing skills.
Strong attention to detail and a highly rigorous approach.
Ability to understand and apply complex theoretical concepts.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills.
Knowledge of Oracle is an asset.
Tax knowledge and experience are an asset.
Knowledge of the natural gas industry and Quebec’s regulatory framework is an asset.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Final candidates may be required to undergo a security screening, including a criminal background check.
