About the role

  • Project Engineer supporting Enbridge’s energy infrastructure expansion and maintenance projects. Coordinating mechanical design, external engineering firms, regulatory compliance, and facility commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Engineering Lead and multidisciplinary team in developing and executing facility expansion and maintenance capital projects
  • Develop project scope, schedules, capital cost estimates, execution plans, risk assessments, and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate internal functional groups to ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements
  • Ensure facilities comply with applicable regulations, industry codes, and corporate standards
  • Manage third-party engineering firms' design deliverables against budget and schedule requirements
  • Review and approve drawings, technical reports, and material listing sheets
  • Review vendor quotations and prepare technical evaluations
  • Recommend equipment and material selections based on technical merit, cost, and delivery requirements
  • Support commissioning and startup activities for newly installed facilities
  • Incorporate lessons learned into future designs and project execution strategies
  • Support or lead business initiatives, including cost-saving opportunities
  • Collaborate with Project Execution, Operations, and Shared Services teams to integrate operational, technical, and organizational requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university
  • Experience in Liquids Pipeline and/or Gas Transmission & Midstream facilities
  • Currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA
  • 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in engineering and project management
  • Ability to innovate, initiate, and manage change
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to resolve complex issues using strong technical and business judgment
  • Strong stakeholder awareness and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and impacts across internal and external technical and non-technical teams
  • PMP designation is an asset
  • Valid driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record required
  • Ability to meet time-sensitive deliverables
  • Final candidates may be required to undergo security screening, including a criminal records check
