About the role

  • Managing Consultant advising mining organizations on sustainability, strategy, risk, transactions, and transformation. Leading multidisciplinary engagements that create measurable value for ERM clients.

Responsibilities

  • Help mining clients connect sustainability to business value, performance, resilience, and long-term success
  • Guide executive leadership teams in integrating sustainability, risk management, and value creation into strategic decisions
  • Lead complex strategy, transformation, transaction, and risk advisory engagements across the mining sector
  • Develop trusted client relationships and identify opportunities for continued collaboration
  • Influence investment decisions, project development strategies, and business transformation initiatives
  • Mentor and inspire multidisciplinary teams
  • Manage and deliver medium to large, complex, multidisciplinary projects, programs, deliverables, and workstreams
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and prepare technical proposals
  • Build client relationships that generate repeat business and expand ERM's sustainability advisory presence
  • Execute projects connecting sustainability to value creation, business transformation, risk management, and operational performance
  • Collaborate with ERM technical teams, partners, subcontractors, and subject matter experts
  • Support internal initiatives benefiting the Mining and Sustainability Strategy and Transformation team
  • Communicate with clients, employees, vendors, and external stakeholders
  • Lead, manage, mentor, inspire, hire, and retain high-performing team members
  • Apply ERM practices, policies, and business processes
  • Collaborate across regions and global practice communities
  • Maintain client relationships through project delivery and face-to-face engagement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Business, Economics, Sustainability, Finance, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in management consulting, mining and metals, sustainability advisory, corporate strategy, project development, transactions, or a related field
  • Experience delivering strategy, transformation, transaction, or risk advisory engagements within the mining and metals and other industrial sectors
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, project financing, due diligence, corporate development, integration planning, or investment decisions
  • Experience translating sustainability commitments into actionable business strategies, transformation programs, and measurable performance outcomes
  • Experience working with executive leadership teams to integrate sustainability, risk management, and value creation objectives into strategic decision-making
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex engagements, stakeholders, and project delivery
  • Strong client relationship management, business development, and proposal development experience
  • Strong understanding of ESG and sustainability issues facing the mining industry, including climate change, biodiversity, water stewardship, social performance, Indigenous engagement, human rights, mine closure, and responsible sourcing
  • Ability to identify, assess, and manage sustainability, regulatory, operational, and stakeholder-related risks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Familiarity with leading sustainability frameworks, ESG due diligence practices, and mining industry regulatory and permitting requirements
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship
  • Preferred: Master's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Preferred: Experience within a leading consulting firm, mining company, investment organization, project developer, or advisory practice
  • Preferred: Familiarity with ICMM Mining Principles, GRI, ISSB, TCFD, TNFD, IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and ESG due diligence practices
  • Preferred: Experience supporting private equity, infrastructure, pension, streaming, or royalty investors
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Canadian and key mining-jurisdiction regulatory frameworks, permitting, environmental assessment, and sustainability expectations
