About the role
- Managing Technical Consultant leading archaeological field programs and cultural heritage assessments for ERM. Advising clients and agencies while expanding sustainability consultancy services across Western Canada.
Responsibilities
- Lead archaeological field programs under Heritage Inspection, Heritage Investigation, and Site Alteration Permits
- Oversee research, artifact analysis, and reporting for cultural heritage assessments
- Advise clients and regulatory agencies on cultural heritage matters
- Represent ERM with clients, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams
- Drive business development initiatives for archaeology and cultural heritage services across Western Canada
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, compliant solutions
- Conduct literature reviews, artifact analysis, and cataloguing
- Prepare high-quality reports and client deliverables
- Represent ERM at meetings with provincial, territorial, and federal agencies
- Support growth of ERM’s archaeology and cultural heritage practice through technical excellence and client engagement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field
- 4+ years of professional experience in archaeology and cultural heritage
- Current permit holder in British Columbia; Field Directors will also be considered
- Proven ability to lead field programs and complete research projects
- Strong communication, writing, and computer skills
- Willingness to travel
- Valid driver’s license and/or ability to operate a company vehicle
- Not eligible for immigration sponsorship
- Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field preferred
- Permit holding in other provinces/territories preferred
- Demonstrated business development experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively preferred
