Intermediate Hydrogeologist and Field Lead delivering groundwater investigations for ERM's sustainability consultancy. Leading field teams, client projects, and hydrogeology business growth across Canada.
Responsibilities
Drive the continued growth of ERM's hydrogeology business in Canada
Lead and execute complex groundwater field programs for mining and oil & gas clients
Deliver technical work on water management and sustainability projects
Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and ERM's global technical network
Support responsible resource development through hydrogeological investigations and analysis
Build trusted client relationships and contribute to business development and project success
Plan and coordinate groundwater field programs, including drilling, well installation, and multi-year monitoring
Supervise field teams and subcontractors while ensuring health and safety compliance
Collect and analyze aquifer data using slug tests, step-drawdown tests, and constant-rate pumping tests
Perform QA/QC reviews of field data and support groundwater analysis and interpretation
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations with senior hydrogeologists
Support proposal preparation, client engagement, and relationship building
Share technical knowledge and best practices with ERM's global water resources team
Contribute to multidisciplinary project delivery while maintaining technical excellence and sustainability
Requirements
B.Sc. in geoscience, hydrogeology, engineering, or related field, with a strong academic focus in physical and contaminant hydrogeology
4+ years of consulting experience in hydrogeology field work planning, groundwater data analysis, and reporting
Eligible for E.I.T./G.I.T. or professional designation (P.Eng./P.Geo.) in a Canadian jurisdiction
Proven ability to lead field programs, including drilling, well installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater sampling
Skilled in QA/QC of field data and analysis using AQTESOLV, AquiferTest Pro, and Surfer
Strong understanding of hydrogeological processes in mining, oil & gas, and industrial contexts
Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship-building skills
Willingness to travel extensively (up to 60%+)
Valid driver's license and/or ability to operate a company vehicle required
Position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship
Familiarity with MODFLOW and/or FEFLOW is an asset, not required
6+ years of consulting experience preferred
