About the role
- Ingénieure mécanique concevant des systèmes de tuyauterie et équipements pour centrales hydroélectriques chez EXP. Coordination multidisciplinaire, suivi de chantier et soutien technique aux équipes de projet.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and preparation of mechanical and industrial piping plans and specifications for water systems, drainage and water treatment, oil and compressed air
- Select equipment and size piping and pumps
- Coordinate design with other disciplines, notably electrical and structural
- Perform design calculations required for projects
- Participate in site survey visits to prepare detailed plans and specifications
- Review shop drawings and technical data sheets
- Ensure quality control of on-site work and attend construction/site meetings
- Prepare site visit reports and meeting minutes
- Analyze change order costs, prepare site instructions, and provide recommendations to clients
- Participate in provisional and final acceptance inspections
- Provide functional guidance and technical support to technicians, drafters, and less-experienced professionals
- Perform any other related tasks contributing to project success
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 to 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
- Member in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent command of French
- Valid driver’s license for required travel
- Experience designing mechanical systems for institutional, commercial, or industrial buildings
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
- Strong organizational skills, a sense of responsibility and initiative, combined with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
