About the role
- Senior Civil Engineer designing roads, sewers, watermains, and stormwater systems for EXP. Leading infrastructure projects, mentoring staff, and managing client delivery in Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Deliver land development and municipal infrastructure projects through planning, design, construction, and maintenance periods
- Foster long-term client relationships and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project life cycle
- Control project scope, budget, and schedule
- Mentor and develop junior staff
- Obtain necessary project approvals and permits from municipal, provincial, and federal agencies
- Maintain quality control, design standards, and compliance from inception to completion
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, approving agencies, planners, consultants, residents, and other stakeholders
- Facilitate internal collaboration and work sharing across disciplines
- Meet internal business metrics and targets
- Conduct ongoing business development with existing and new clients
- Design roads, sewers, watermains, graded site plans, stormwater management systems, and construction plans using Civil 3D and specialized civil engineering design programs
- Grow the infrastructure business and take a lead role in the discipline
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years relevant and demonstrated industry experience
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario
- Proven track record of developing relationships, writing, and reviewing competitive proposals
- Experience working with clients in both the public and private sectors
- Leadership experience and people management skills is an asset
- Strategic, analytical and practical thinker
- Ability to analyze challenges/issues and determine priorities in an environment of tight and conflicting deadlines
- Solid client development and management skills
- Ability to attract, grow, and retain top talent
- Knowledge of Civil 3D
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Valid Ontario driver's license
