About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the implementation of the Climate Action Plan
  • Provide research, analysis, and expert advice
  • Coordinate and foster engagement across teams
  • Engage with various teams to advance climate- and sustainable finance-related initiatives
  • Support the development of product ideas and engagement tactics
  • Communicate directly with business lines to further integrate climate finance into EDC’s practices
  • Support the advancement of climate risk management for EDC’s portfolio
  • Support the development of EDC clients’ climate-related capabilities
  • Explore ways to collaborate with clients and create value
  • Liaise with external consultants and coordinate their efforts
  • Monitor emerging ESG trends
  • Conduct research and analysis
  • Translate findings into tangible deliverables that support the Climate Action Plan
  • Collaborate closely with EDC business lines and internal and external stakeholders
  • Report to the Director, Climate and Sustainable Finance, within the Sustainable Business Group

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, law, engineering, business, or science, including climate change science
  • At least seven to eight years of experience in financial services or sustainability
  • Demonstrated experience at the intersection of climate change and financial services
  • Applied knowledge of climate science
  • Experience developing or implementing programs, or delivering related training
  • Ability to adapt and revise project milestones and objectives
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in effective business writing
  • Master’s degree in a field related to sustainability, climate change, or finance
  • In-depth knowledge of the energy, agrifood, or mining sectors, particularly critical minerals
  • In-depth applied knowledge of sustainable finance and its integration
  • In-depth knowledge of integrating climate considerations into portfolio risk management
  • Experience with financed emissions calculations and modeling
  • Fluency in both official languages
  • Ability to work legally in Canada at the time of application; preference will be given to Canadian citizens or permanent residents
  • Ability to meet Government of Canada security requirements
  • Meet all essential requirements and submit an application before the closing date
