Responsibilities
Plan, design and prepare plans and specifications, cost estimates and tender documents for municipal infrastructure works
Advise and support local and regional municipalities at all stages of their projects and in the management of their municipal contracts
Prepare tender documents for professional services and contribute to the contract award and monitoring processes
Oversee works and construction sites, perform required follow-ups and ensure work compliance with plans, specifications, standards, budgets and schedules
Conduct preliminary studies, technical analyses and feasibility studies
Formulate recommendations and produce technical opinions
Collaborate in the development of sustainable and resilient technical solutions, taking into account territorial realities and climate change challenges
Prepare and coordinate environmental authorization requests and follow up with the relevant authorities
Collaborate with the FQM (Fédération québécoise des municipalités) interdisciplinary experts to provide integrated support to municipalities
Perform any other related tasks contributing to the success of the team’s mandates and the FQM’s mission
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in municipal engineering
Excellent knowledge of regulations and standards in municipal infrastructure and municipal governance
Team player with a strong customer-service orientation
Member in good standing of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec)
Completion of construction site safety training (ASP construction)
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
Any combination of education and professional experience, and any other relevant experience, will be considered
