About the role
- Ingénieur municipal à la Fédération québécoise des municipalités, accompagnant les municipalités québécoises dans leurs projets d’infrastructures. Planification, conception, surveillance de travaux et solutions résilientes aux changements climatiques.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design and prepare plans and specifications, cost estimates and tender documents for municipal infrastructure works
- Advise and support local and regional municipalities at all stages of their projects and in the management of their municipal contracts
- Prepare tender documents for professional services and contribute to the contract award and monitoring processes
- Oversee works and construction sites, perform required follow-ups and ensure work compliance with plans, specifications, standards, budgets and schedules
- Conduct preliminary studies, technical analyses and feasibility studies
- Formulate recommendations and produce technical opinions
- Collaborate in the development of sustainable and resilient technical solutions, taking into account territorial realities and climate change challenges
- Prepare and coordinate environmental authorization requests and follow up with the relevant authorities
- Collaborate with the FQM (Fédération québécoise des municipalités) interdisciplinary experts to provide integrated support to municipalities
- Perform any other related tasks contributing to the success of the team’s mandates and the FQM’s mission
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in municipal engineering
- Excellent knowledge of regulations and standards in municipal infrastructure and municipal governance
- Team player with a strong customer-service orientation
- Member in good standing of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec)
- Completion of construction site safety training (ASP construction)
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
- Any combination of education and professional experience, and any other relevant experience, will be considered
