Communications Intern supporting Finning Canada's corporate communications through storytelling, newsletters, intranet updates, events, and reporting. Hybrid role based in Edmonton, Calgary, or Surrey.
Responsibilities
Track down story details for internal or external stories through interviews and online research
Draft and edit internal and external story content
Support the weekly Traction Roundup newsletter by compiling submissions, editing copy, laying out the newsletter, and finding photos/videos
Provide accurate and timely responses to project requests
Safeguard confidential project, meeting, and sensitive information
Represent Finning ethically and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
Maintain the Finning Traction intranet by adding, deleting, or updating content and pages
Review Traction page content with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and currency
Organize meetings, events, and learning sessions aligned with communications goals
Support development of internal and external communications presentation materials
Track participation, feedback, and outcomes of communications initiatives
Prepare leadership reports on communications program impact and opportunities
Requirements
Enrolled in a communications, journalism or broadcast program at a post-secondary institution
Ability to organize tasks, manage deadlines, and ensure accuracy across projects
Ability to communicate clearly with diverse teams and stakeholders
Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively in fast-paced environments
Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and adaptability
Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across teams
Strong command of English with high-quality writing and editing skills
Ability to create engaging presentations conveying relevant and actionable information
