About the role

  • Financial Planning Analyst supporting financial models, reporting packages, and variance analysis. Hybrid role with three office days weekly for Finning, the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports and/or support the preparation of analysis accurately and on a timely basis
  • Prepare and/or support team members with financial models, including revenue models, free cash flow analysis, and profit margin analysis
  • Assist/support the preparation of ad hoc financial analysis
  • Perform research as requested
  • Perform and/or support peer checks for accuracy and completeness of reports and presentations
  • Prepare and support the completion of monthly/quarterly reporting packages and presentations for the leadership team and internal and external customers
  • Prepare and/or support variance analysis on the company’s financial and commercial results and commentary
  • Prepare and/or support reports and presentations for internal and external customers

Requirements

  • A Bachelors’ degree in Finance or related degree
  • Working towards a professional designation (CPA, MBA)
  • Solid understanding of IFRS
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong financial, reporting and analytical skills
  • Strong aptitude for systems
  • Excel skills with the ability to work with lookups and pivot tables
  • Experience in Report Generation with Power BI or SAP is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships
  • Excellent time management skills, including prioritizing, organizing, tracking details, and meeting aggressive deadlines across multiple projects
  • Attention to detail while retaining the larger view
  • Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects
  • High standards for quality output
  • Eagerness to develop and grow as a highly motivated team player
