About the role
- Senior Software Engineer building Fleetio’s marketplace for fleet maintenance services, payments, and integrations. Developing scalable Ruby on Rails and React solutions for fleets and shops.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and implement features for Fleetio’s Marketplace offering
- Help fleets and shops schedule, complete, and pay for vehicle and equipment service
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers
- Engage in collaborative feature design and architecture
- Deliver well-tested, maintainable, and performant code
- Research and implement prototypes and spikes to validate assumptions and technical feasibility
- Contribute strongly to development and planning processes
- Review peers’ code for quality, consistency, and knowledge sharing
- Report to the Web Engineering Manager
Requirements
- 10+ years experience as a software engineer
- 3+ years experience with Ruby on Rails
- 2+ years experience with ReactJS, Typescript
- Firm understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Expertise with consuming and integrating with external systems, APIs, and/or webhooks
- Expertise with data modeling and optimizing query performance
- Solid experience solving challenging architectural problems with good design
- Experience with unit testing frameworks
- Excellent communication skills (particularly written)
- Mention “coffee” in your application
