Credit Investment Analyst analyzing and managing Float’s credit portfolio. Supporting Canada’s fintech financial operating system through due diligence, monitoring, and risk insights.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough and efficient analyses of business fundamentals and financial performance for potential and existing credit investments
Monitor Float’s credit portfolio, track account behaviour, and identify signs of potential credit deterioration
Conduct periodic financial reviews of existing clients, analyzing business fundamentals, financial health, and repayment capacity
Assess credit exposures relative to limits, recommend adjustments, and escalate concerns to the Credit Committee
Collaborate with clients to gather updated financial information and address inquiries
Support continuous improvement of Float’s credit monitoring framework, risk policies, and portfolio management practices
Participate in due diligence calls with CFOs, CEOs, VPs of Finance, and Controllers
Partner with Sales & Marketing and Customer Success teams to relay feedback on valuable opportunities
Use portfolio performance data to derive insights for growing and shaping the portfolio
Help build Float’s corporate card and spend management platform for Canadian businesses
Requirements
2+ years of accounting, transaction advisory, consulting, corporate or investment banking, or other similar experience
Bachelor’s degree ideally, though it is not required
Love of investing
Ability to analyze business fundamentals and financial performance
Ability to monitor credit portfolio performance and identify potential credit deterioration
Ability to assess credit exposures relative to limits and recommend adjustments
Strong relationship-building and collaborative approach with prospects and clients
Critical thinking and ability to validate or disprove investment hypotheses
Thoroughness and meticulousness in calculations and due diligence
Commercial focus and understanding of the market and business
Quantitative thinking combined with qualitative judgment
Data analysis skills to uncover insights and trends
Familiarity with SQL or similar tools is a plus
French language skills are a bonus, but not required
Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-paced situations
