About the role

  • Product Manager overseeing credit and risk engineering initiatives at Float, facilitating growth for Canadian businesses with streamlined financial solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap and sequencing for the Credit & Risk Engineering squad across three domains — starting with the trade-off between paying down risk infrastructure debt and building the FlexLine decisioning engine.
  • Own the decisioning and automation systems that drive KYB/KYC approval speed and accuracy, delivered so Float's risk operations team can hit its approval-time targets.
  • Own the tooling behind fraud detection, AML compliance, payments operations, and dispute resolution — daily infrastructure the company already depends on.
  • Own risk decision operating cost per account as your team's primary efficiency metric, proving the systems scale without proportional headcount growth.
  • Own the in-app credit experiences — applying for credit, viewing balances and limits, setting up repayments — and their target speed, in support of Float's credit product roadmap.
  • Be the standing source of truth on where the credit product roadmap ends and credit-engineering scope begins, in ongoing partnership with the GM of Credit.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time personally owning a credit underwriting or risk-decisioning outcome — not just supporting one.
  • A track record building and owning infrastructure or internal-tooling products where another team, not an end customer, is who you're building for.
  • Real comfort operating inside compliance-heavy domains — KYB/KYC, transaction monitoring, fraud, AML, payments operations, or disputes.
  • An automation-first instinct: your default question is how a decision becomes automatic, not what the screen looks like.
  • Experience sequencing a roadmap under real capacity constraints, including saying no to work that looked mandatory.
  • Comfort negotiating and holding scope boundaries with senior, opinionated stakeholders you don't manage.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, equity options, and benefits
  • Hybrid work model – we are based in Toronto with in-office days for connection and collaboration
  • Enjoy catered team lunches every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
  • Bring your pup to our dog-friendly office
