About the role

ADAS software verification engineer testing Ford Canada’s electric-vehicle driver-assistance features. Developing automated validation systems, analyzing defects, and collaborating across agile engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and conduct verification and validation of ADAS-related software
Develop test procedures, plans, automated scripts, and test cases
Define test setups for validation and verification, including equipment, tools, licenses, hardware, and test systems such as HIL
Support test bench bring-up
Identify test dependencies including specifications, interfaces, compliance, hardware, and software components
Identify opportunities and provide support for automation and tooling
Perform automated and manual test execution, results analysis, root cause analysis, and verifications
Contribute to team results through ownership in agile Scrum development sprints
Collaborate cross-functionally with technical specialists, feature owners, development teams, and other test teams

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer/Electrical/Software Engineering or a related field)
Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Test Engineering
Minimum 1 year experience with Driver Assistance technologies using radar, cameras, sensors, or features
Understanding of Feature specifications, FMEAs, robustness disciplines and Design Verification Plan
Understanding of performance requirements and interactions with other features and the system, and ability to establish procedures to verify performance quantitatively and subjectively
Familiarity with control algorithms using Matlab, Simulink or equivalent
Experience with data collection and analysis, ideally in driver assist technology
Ability to interpret C/C++, Python, Java code, or logs to aid in issue resolution
Experience working with automated test systems and test script development
Experience with low level debugging tools such as Lauterbach ICE, Wireshark, and Oscilloscope
Proven ability working with Test Management tools and designing Test Artifacts
Demonstrated ability to work with defect management systems such as JIRA
Experience using hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems and test bench setup
Experience with debuggers, canalyzers and similar test equipment
Successful candidates must provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained
