About the role

  • Lead engineer building Workbench’s warehouse simulation engine for Fulfillment IQ, a supply chain engineering and logistics transformation company. Owning simulation models, product integration, and the emerging simulation practice.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and own Workbench’s warehouse simulation engine
  • Translate warehouse operational processes into mathematical simulation models at various levels of granularity
  • Select appropriate simulation paradigms and tools for each problem
  • Benchmark simulation-engine performance across different warehouse operations
  • Prioritize simulation product features and establish the technical and product roadmap
  • Oversee simulation-engine development and integration into the main product
  • Assemble and lead the team building and maintaining the simulation engine
  • Work with the Chief Scientist, domain experts, and developers
  • Use AI tools for execution while applying judgment to ambiguous problems

Requirements

  • Experience and understanding of warehouse or supply chain operations
  • Hands-on experience designing and building simulation models
  • Understanding of different simulation paradigms and when to use them
  • Comfort working in a zero-to-one, high-ambiguity environment
  • Strong engineering ability to build simulation models and supporting tooling
  • Master’s or PhD in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field, or Bachelor’s with equivalent hands-on simulation experience
  • Nice to have: warehouse automation, robotics, or material-handling exposure
  • Nice to have: digital-twin work or simulation embedded in a product
  • Nice to have: experience owning a technical vertical or setting standards on a small team
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
