About the role
- Senior Java developer designing and deploying sanctions-screening applications for Genpact, an AI and advanced technology solutions company. Improving high-volume transaction processing through microservices, integrations, and Agile delivery.
Responsibilities
- Work on existing and new initiatives within the Sanctions suite of applications
- Customize applications for evolving business needs
- Improve application architecture and infrastructure
- Design, develop, test, and deploy code following Agile principles
- Handle large volumes of customer and real-time transaction screening for Sanctions and Adverse Media screening
- Provide screening responses in sub-second timeframes
- Utilize vendor software and open-source Java technologies, including Spring Integration, Actimize Case Management, Lexis Nexis CLINK, and ASM
- Apply Scrum, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery
- Design and develop REST services and integrations using JSON, Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, SOAP, and XML
- Create database designs, SQL procedures, and tuned queries
- Modernize the ecosystem iteratively
- Create Architecture Design Review documents
- Leverage team strengths to achieve application success
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology, or Master's degree in Software Engineering
- Oracle Certified Java Associate certification
- Strong experience developing Java-based systems
- Experience with Agile methodology
- Proficiency in Apache Kafka, Core Java, Java, Java APIs, and Java Database Connectivity (JDBC)
- Strong database design skills, including SQL, procedures, and query tuning
- Knowledge of REST services, JSON, Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, SOAP, and XML
- Knowledge of service design, object-oriented and functional development concepts
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- Knowledge of DevOps tools and methodologies
- Knowledge of microservices concepts and high-quality software architecture and design methodologies such as SOA
- Linux and shell scripting skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional approach
- Ability to communicate with global teams, adapt rapidly, learn quickly, and exercise sound judgment
- English proficiency at C2 level
- Financial domain knowledge and understanding of AML and customer risk-ranking quantitative methodologies are advantageous
- Angular UI experience is a plus
