About the role
- Operations Supervisor overseeing driver supervision, transportation scheduling, safety, and customer service. Supporting GFL Environmental’s waste management operations in Saskatchewan.
Responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Company’s transportation requirements and patterns
- Review and process day-to-day operations
- Evaluate and recommend equipment needs
- Plan and schedule appropriate service lines to balance customer service and cost of service
- Ensure compliance with government-related programs specific to haulage mode and direction
- Directly supervise all drivers, including training, discipline, and procedural implementation
- Liaise between dispatch and drivers regarding schedules, equipment, and service requirements
- Conduct sit-in driver training and assess driving habits and fuel savings
- Conduct regular driver reviews
- Maintain courteous, prompt, and efficient customer relations
- Track service and driver issues and document required discipline
- Organize and approve driver vacation requests
- Coordinate with departments on service, unit upkeep, and safety equipment
- Ensure a healthy and safe working environment
- Ensure company policy, systems, and industry training is delivered to drivers
- Perform accident investigations involving company vehicles
- Provide or arrange driver training for customer service standards
- Resolve internal and customer service issues cost-effectively and promptly
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement preferred
- Willing to work flexible hours
- 2-3 years supervisory experience
- Experience working with Front End Loaders and Roll Off vehicles
- Able to perform a pre and post trip inspection and accident investigations
- Previous operations, transportation, waste management experience preferred
- Valid work authorization in Canada; GFL does not provide visa sponsorship
