About the role
- Industrial Services Technician performing power washing, confined-space work, and equipment operation for GFL’s waste-management business in Timmins.
Responsibilities
- Monitor assigned projects day to day
- Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, and the Industrial Services Shop
- Perform power washing and high-pressure water blasting
- Perform line snaking, drain inspections, and pipe inspections
- Clean chemical, non-hazardous, and hazardous industrial waste
- Assist with vacuum trucks and plant operations
- Perform confined-space entry and rescue for Industrial Services projects
- Work in tight or cramped spaces
- Work while using a respirator or supplied-air breathing apparatus
- Perform shoveling, jack hammering, squeegeeing, scraping, and heavy lifting
- Operate pickup trucks, utility trailers, forklifts, excavators, bobcats, and similar equipment
- Operate aerial boom lifts and scissor lifts
Requirements
- 2–5 years’ experience in Industrial Cleaning and Maintenance strongly preferred
- Must be clean shaven in order to wear a respirator
- Class G license required
- Experience working in Industrial settings an asset
- Previous experience with Vacuum Trucks, Industrial Power-washing or Water-blasting, or Liquid Waste Industry experience strongly preferred
- Previous experience with Confined Space Entry or Work at Heights an asset
- Ability to work flexible hours/shifts, days, evenings, nights, and possibly weekends or holidays
- AZ/DZ License is considered an asset
- Must be comfortable with driving and maneuvering a pick-up truck and trailer unit
- Friendly and professional, able to deal directly with customer contacts on site
- Ability to multi-task, take direction, and work without supervision or within a team at times
- Working at heights greater than 3 meters
- Will be required to wear protective gear, including fall arrest, respirator, and tyvek suit
- Valid work authorization in Canada required; GFL does not provide visa sponsorship
