About the role

Responsibilities
- Design ventilation, heating, air conditioning, stormwater, sanitary, and domestic water systems in accordance with applicable codes
- Support the preparation and evaluation of engineering standards and specifications under the direction of experienced colleagues
- Participate in the training, mentoring, and supervision of less experienced engineers
- Improve processes, work methods, and team organization for drawings and specifications
- Participate in construction supervision when required
- Manage, coordinate, and perform the design of HVAC systems
- Coordinate and prepare drawings and specifications
- Coordinate the work of less experienced team members
- Assist colleagues in optimizing the use of knowledge management systems
- Contribute to the analysis of information and the specification of methods, procedures, facilities, machinery, and equipment required to improve processes
- Contribute to client management on behalf of more senior business development professionals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience designing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
- Knowledge of ventilation and stormwater, sanitary, and domestic water system design
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality
- Ability to exercise sound and timely judgment
- Knowledge of energy efficiency and energy simulation
- Proficiency with software such as HAP or Trane
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- Proficiency with the Québec Construction Code, Chapters 1 and 3; the National Building Codes; ASHRAE standards; and the National Plumbing Code
- Initiative and motivation to find solutions
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
