About the role

Développeur backend senior développant des API et services Python pour GHGSat, qui surveille les émissions de gaz à effet de serre par satellite. Déploiement cloud AWS et applications conteneurisées.

Responsibilities

Participate in the full application lifecycle, with a focus on developing new features and creating value for users
Develop, test, integrate, and deploy backend solutions and APIs
Maintain GHGSat’s web services and ensure their high availability for both internal and external users
Collaborate with developers, designers, Quality Assurance (QA), and Product Owners to design and develop new features
Contribute to GHGSat’s mission of providing greenhouse gas detection, measurement, and monitoring services through its satellites, airborne sensors, and third-party data

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Demonstrated experience designing and deploying scalable web applications that deliver meaningful value to users
Strong experience with Python
Experience designing and deploying cloud services on AWS
Experience deploying containerized applications with Docker and/or Kubernetes
Experience with databases and ETL systems, particularly PostgreSQL
Proficiency in test-driven development (TDD), CI/CD pipelines, and technical documentation
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada and comply with the requirements of Canada’s Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
Excellent written and spoken English is required for this position to participate in international projects and communicate with colleagues and clients outside Quebec
This position requires the ability to obtain Government of Canada security clearance
