About the role
- Operator Assistant handling various tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting at Graphic Packaging. Responsible for quality checks and equipment safety while adhering to SOPs.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor duties in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while working under tight production deadlines
- Arranges cases on a pallet, wraps and labels loads
- Uses a PIV to move WIP and finished goods to palletizer
- Occasionally moves stacks of cartons from pallets and places them into the feeder of the gluing machine/press
- Responsible for performing quality checks on the cartons according to SOP's
- Correctly labels corrugated cases
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the work area
- Safely performs all tasks on and around the equipment
- Must follow all company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned and required
Requirements
- Prior exposure to manufacturing environment preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand/power tools preferred
- Strong dexterity and hand-eye coordination required
- Basic computer skills required
- Basic math skills - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division required
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time with frequent twisting, bending, push/pull and repetitive tasks
- Routine lifting and occasional heavy lifting (up to 40 lbs)
- Must be a good communicator (speaking/listening/reading/writing) and able to work well in a collaborative environment
- Must adhere to all company general policies and processes as well as safety policies and government legislation
