About the role

  • Copywriter producing bilingual customer-facing web, email, campaign, and lifecycle content for GS1 Canada, a global standards organization. Translating approved product messaging into clear, accessible copy.

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit customer-facing copy for web pages, emails, lifecycle communications, landing pages, campaign assets, customer announcements, paid and organic social, and product content
  • Translate approved positioning, messaging frameworks and value propositions into clear, accurate, customer-focused channel-ready copy
  • Adapt messages across channels, formats and audiences while maintaining consistency of meaning and voice
  • Make complex product, data and standards subject matter understandable to business audiences
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Lifecycle Marketing, and Content & Digital Experience on web, email, campaign, lifecycle, and product content
  • Apply brand voice, editorial standards, plain language principles, digital accessibility guidelines, SEO, and GEO best practices
  • Provide editorial review, proofreading, and quality control across customer-facing marketing content
  • Use content and search performance data to improve clarity, discoverability, and conversion
  • Maintain consistency of product names, terminology, and customer-facing language
  • Coordinate French translation, timelines, and quality review so both languages are released together
  • Manage concurrent content requests from approved briefs and production schedules
  • Use AI tools for drafting, editing, and content adaptation while maintaining accuracy, voice, and governance
  • Contribute to content planning, prioritization, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of copywriting or content writing experience in a marketing, agency, or in-house environment
  • Portfolio demonstrating customer-facing writing across web, email, and campaign channels
  • Experience writing to an established brand voice and approved messaging frameworks
  • Experience writing for business or professional audiences, ideally in B2B, technology, data, standards, or regulated environments
  • Working knowledge of SEO and GEO principles, content management systems, email marketing platforms, and digital accessibility standards
  • Experience using content and search performance data is an asset
  • Fully bilingual in English and French, with ability to review and approve translated content and coordinate French translation
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency
  • Ability to incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage concurrent deadlines
  • Sound judgment regarding accuracy, tone, and publication appropriateness
  • Curiosity about customers, products, and measurable content outcomes
