About the role

  • Structural Engineer designing water, wastewater, and conveyance infrastructure for Hazen Canada. Preparing calculations and drawings while supporting multidisciplinary project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design for water, wastewater, and conveyance infrastructure projects
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and construction professionals
  • Support project delivery through construction administration and site-related activities
  • Participate in developing innovative and cost-effective structural solutions
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
  • Contribute to projects located across Canada and the United States
  • Work under senior engineering supervision
  • Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects in person and remotely

Requirements

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with APEGA
  • Ability to obtain professional registration in other Canadian provinces and PE licensure in the United States is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of National Building Code of Canada (NBCC)
  • Knowledge of CSA standards for concrete and steel design
  • Knowledge of ACI 318 and ACI 350
  • Knowledge of AISC Specifications, ASCE Standards, and International Building Code (IBC) considered an asset
  • Knowledge or experience in design and construction of environmental structures, including industrial buildings, pump stations, process basins, and water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • 3 to 8 years of relevant structural engineering experience
  • Experience designing and constructing structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and aluminum structures
  • Familiarity with structural analysis and design software
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment both in person and remotely
