About the role
- Structural Engineer designing water, wastewater, and conveyance infrastructure for Hazen Canada. Preparing calculations and drawings while supporting multidisciplinary project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for water, wastewater, and conveyance infrastructure projects
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and construction professionals
- Support project delivery through construction administration and site-related activities
- Participate in developing innovative and cost-effective structural solutions
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
- Contribute to projects located across Canada and the United States
- Work under senior engineering supervision
- Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects in person and remotely
Requirements
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with APEGA
- Ability to obtain professional registration in other Canadian provinces and PE licensure in the United States is considered an asset
- Knowledge of National Building Code of Canada (NBCC)
- Knowledge of CSA standards for concrete and steel design
- Knowledge of ACI 318 and ACI 350
- Knowledge of AISC Specifications, ASCE Standards, and International Building Code (IBC) considered an asset
- Knowledge or experience in design and construction of environmental structures, including industrial buildings, pump stations, process basins, and water and wastewater treatment facilities
- 3 to 8 years of relevant structural engineering experience
- Experience designing and constructing structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and aluminum structures
- Familiarity with structural analysis and design software
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment both in person and remotely
