About the role

  • People & Culture Director leading culture, performance, and HR operations at RouteThis, an AI-powered connectivity-support company. Guiding its transition from SaaS to AI-native operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the People function through RouteThis’s transition from SaaS to an AI-native company
  • Lead culture and engagement across a hybrid team, measure results, and act on findings
  • Own and develop the performance management process
  • Turn company strategy and key decisions into clear internal communications with the CEO and COO
  • Advise department leads on people matters and support leadership development
  • Own the skills and role framework for talent reviews, performance cycles, and development planning
  • Lead the People Operations Partner and a co-op
  • Own HRIS accuracy, onboarding, offboarding, and Canadian employment law compliance
  • Administer pay bands and the annual compensation cycle
  • Partner with department leads on headcount planning and hiring standards
  • Collaborate with HighlightTA on open roles
  • Use AI tools in the role and support adoption across the People function
  • Report to the Chief Operating Officer and lead a small People team

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of progressive People experience, including time in a scaling technology company
  • Experience owning a performance management, engagement, or culture program with demonstrable results
  • Experience leading through a return to office or building an effective hybrid culture
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment law
  • Familiarity with US employment practices is a plus
  • Comfort with AI tools and interest in using them more
  • People-first approach with ability to make decisions
  • Consistency and resilience
  • Collaborative style and willingness to bring in specialists
  • Assets: experience managing a direct report, leadership development program design, CHRP or CHRL designation
  • Ability to work from the Kitchener office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
