About the role
- Quotation Tender Specialist leading transformer RFQs and final pricing for Hitachi Energy Canada. Coordinating technical bids, suppliers, factories, and customer solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and complete requests for quotation (RFQs) for transformers.
- Support customers with technical inquiries.
- Ensure seamless order handovers for optimal project execution.
- Create and review opportunities in the Salesforce database.
- Identify and follow up on issues or requests for clarification in quotation documents.
- Establish proposal schedules and milestones, and request extensions when necessary.
- Collaborate with FES teams to develop competitive bids and identify risks.
- Analyze customer specifications and coordinate input from factories and suppliers.
- Schedule customer calls to clarify scope and ensure complete solutions.
- Develop final pricing and complete quotation packages.
- Respond to customer questions and revise offers based on feedback.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Report to the Tendering and Quotation Manager.
Requirements
- College or university degree in engineering or a related field.
- More than 5 years of experience in tendering or proposal preparation for electrical components.
- Strong background in power systems, high-voltage equipment, and transformer technology.
- Proficiency with CRM and BI tools.
- Fluency in English, in addition to French, is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidates must already have work authorization permitting them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
- Pre-employment background checks may include verification of employment history, education, criminal records, and other relevant information.
- Additional or more comprehensive background or security screenings may be required for certain roles.
