Responsibilities
Create product design changes and provide product design expertise to sustain and grow Honeywell Aerospace products in production
Lead the design and development of complex electrical systems and provide technical expertise
Support product design, modification, upgrades, customer and supplier investigations, obsolescence, and test system design changes
Support product transitions from development to manufacturing and gain design authority delegation
Review and approve Class II product changes using delegated design authority, coordinating customer approval and notification
Provide design expertise for field failure, suspect counterfeit parts, export/import classification, and FRACAS investigations
Provide MRB engineering disposition authority for nonconforming parts
Engage in materials savings projects to reduce manufacturing and repair costs
Support capital purchase initiatives
Provide estimates and statements of work for engineering efforts and projects
Communicate with customers and suppliers about resolutions for supply chain disruptions, no-fault-found situations, defect escapes, warranty reviews, and first-year-in-service failures
Collaborate daily with globally distributed staff at product design centers and factories
Report directly to the Sr Engineering Manager
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, systems, or aerospace engineering
8 years working in the aerospace or electronics industry
Knowledge of commercial and military aircraft electric power generation/distribution and environmental control systems/sensors
Familiarity with aerospace hardware qualification
Self-motivation and ability to work with little supervision while resolving complex situations and problems
Demonstrated experience making timely decisions on complex tasks while balancing analysis with decisiveness
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely about diverse engineering topics and audiences
Ability to estimate business impact of engineering solutions and provide sound recommendations to business teams
Understanding of product and system configuration management
Ability to learn and comply with import and export regulations (EAR and ITAR)
Ability to mentor junior engineers
Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance in the controlled goods program environment
