About the role
- Furnace Operator melting and alloying aluminum for Hydro, a global aluminium and renewable energy company. Operating furnaces, cranes, and production equipment safely.
Responsibilities
- Operate furnaces used to melt aluminum for casting and production processes
- Perform pre-operational inspections and monitor furnace conditions
- Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position materials safely
- Manage the transfer and alloying of molten aluminum during production operations
- Support general production activities while following all Health & Safety procedures
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work rotating shifts as required
- Experience operating industrial equipment or overhead cranes
- Ability to work in high-heat environments (30–40°C+) near furnaces
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to safety and operational procedures
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
