Claims Representative I managing mild to moderate Accident Benefits claims for Intact. Ensuring exceptional claims journey and timely investigations in a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
Proactively manage a caseload of mild to moderate Accident Benefits claims in an efficient manner and provide an exceptional claims journey for the customer.
Ensure timely and thorough investigation and adjudication of medical claims.
Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and assess entitlements which are fair and equitable.
Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with customers, claimants, legal representatives, and medical clinics to settle claims and report findings and settlements.
Conduct investigations and identify additional information such as independent medical examinations, and customers' medical or employment history required to clarify and/or justify a claim.
Collect reports and statements to determine liability and coverage.
Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet all legislative requirements.
Requirements
Minimum of two years of insurance experience and minimum one year of customer service experience required
Hold a valid insurance license / completed C11 or its equivalent
A university degree or college diploma in Health Sciences (Kinesiology or Psychology) is considered an asset
Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and a love for teamwork
Willing to work towards a Chartered Insurance Professional designation and have the ability to become licensed in all Atlantic provinces
Strong verbal and written communication, critical thinking, and negotiation skills
Strong analytical skills; detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage change
Capable of multitasking and juggling competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Capable of working independently within a collaborative team setting
Strong time management skills
Computer literate and capable of working in a paperless environment
An ongoing commitment to self-development
Knowledge or understanding of medical terminology is an asset
Eager to work in a hybrid environment.
No Canadian work experience required; however, must be eligible to work in Canada.
