About the role

  • Claims Adjuster - Auto managing insurance claims for Intact. Handling client inquiries and assessing claims in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, or nearby provinces.

Responsibilities

  • Open new claims on the phone with clients and ensure immediate handling of the situation
  • Gather versions of events from the insured and/or witnesses by interviewing them about the events
  • Determine if the claim is covered or not by analyzing the coverage required to cover the claim
  • Analyze the information obtained, make decisions that will be used to establish liability and review the assessment of damages
  • Settle the claim in a fair and reasonable manner, validate damages and complete payments

Requirements

  • Completion of CIP C11 course and/or Adjuster license
  • Previous insurance experience
  • Great critical thinking: you challenge assumptions, identify risks early, and continuously improve processes to drive better outcomes
  • Passion for customer service with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented, capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • No Canadian work experience required; however must be eligible to work in Canada.
