About the role

  • Property claims representative investigating complex claims and fraud for Intact, a Canadian insurer. Coordinating coverage analysis, settlements, repairs, and claims reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate potential fraud, misrepresentation, and/or exaggeration within complex commercial, personal, and specialty property claims
  • Collect and examine evidence, including statements, examinations under oath, claims documents, witness testimony, expert reports, and other relevant information
  • Coordinate independent adjusters, legal resources, engineers, and others to analyze and assess policy coverage
  • Analyze property damage and restoration estimates and monitor repair progress for compliance with Intact standards
  • Communicate with customers and third parties regarding coverage decisions, findings, disputes, and claim settlements
  • Collaborate on or lead projects with Investigative Services, Claims, and Underwriting teams
  • Negotiate fair and equitable settlements
  • Deliver high-quality claims reporting and documentation in consultation with Technical Specialists

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years claims adjusting experience in Property
  • Ability to handle and oversee complex claims
  • Additional investigation experience in the insurance and/or financial industry is an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of policy wordings and endorsements governing property insurance
  • Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
  • Completed, or working toward, Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment
  • Responsible for maintaining work eligibility in Canada
