About the role
- Security Analyst II protecting Intact’s insurance operations through incident response and SIEM monitoring. Supporting security platforms, incident resolution, dashboards, and IT security initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support the security incident response team in resolving computer security incidents
- Act as a security incident response expert within the security monitoring team and on security initiatives
- Analyze security alerts from monitoring tools, including SIEM
- Triage threats, assess scope, and escalate as necessary
- Develop and analyze dashboards and reports to identify threats and anomalous activity
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support
- Monitor information security newsfeeds, techniques, and trends
- Identify, assess, and recommend information security solutions
- Participate in security projects and the evolution of IT security operations strategies, frameworks, objectives, and directions
- Operate the web filtering platform alongside the platform SME
- Keep systems updated, ensure availability, and maintain optimal platform security
- Support business units and other teams with technology use and business solution deployment and updates
- Handle and resolve security incidents
- Create and maintain activity documentation
- Raise security awareness within the company
- Learn new technologies
- Participate in designing dashboards with the programmer
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or any combination of equivalent education and experience
- Minimum of five years in IT, web development or information security
- Relevant professional experience in information technology
- Experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT), preferably in security monitoring and security incident response
- Desktop environment knowledge (a must)
- Ticketing tool awareness (a must)
- Web filtering with Websense/Forcepoint (a plus)
- Remote access of server
- Technical writing (a must)
- Candidates located in Quebec must be bilingual due to regular interaction with English-speaking colleagues across Canada
- Must be eligible to work in Canada; no Canadian work experience required
