Compiler Engineer advancing Intel’s oneAPI offloading and SYCL infrastructure for CPUs, GPUs, and accelerators. Collaborating with LLVM and Intel teams on production compiler technology.
Responsibilities
Design and implement core offloading technologies, including binary formats, device code generation, and next-generation offloading models
Enable heterogeneous computing across CPUs, GPUs, and accelerators
Collaborate upstream with the LLVM and SYCL communities
Partner with Intel compiler, runtime, performance, and platform teams
Deliver production-ready compiler solutions
Work on Intel's offload and SYCL infrastructure across open-source and closed-source compiler stacks
Contribute to LLVM-based Intel C, C++, SYCL, and Fortran compiler technology
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 3+ years of experience OR Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
Experience with C/C++, object-oriented programming, and data structures
Open-source development contributions to LLVM, SYCL, or similar projects
Foundational understanding of compiler concepts, including frontend parsing, IR transformation, code generation, and linking
Understanding of heterogeneous computing concepts, including CPU/GPU programming, offloading models, and accelerator architectures
Experience developing or maintaining production compilers in offloading toolchains, SPIR-V generation, and Clang driver (preferred)
Expertise in CPU/GPU/NPU architectures and SYCL/CUDA/OpenMP programming models (preferred)
Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities (preferred)
Ability to work independently and proactively pursue solutions (preferred)
