About the role

  • IDC Business Partner managing independent delivery contractor capacity, performance, compliance, and relationships. Supporting Intelcom | Dragonfly’s technology-enabled last-mile logistics operations across Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Identify mutually beneficial opportunities supporting IDC sustainability, operational excellence, customer experience, and Intelcom’s delivery capacity
  • Advise regional leadership on IDC partnership trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Collaborate with Operations and Procurement to assess delivery requirements, identify capacity gaps, and support capacity-planning strategies
  • Find potential independent delivery contractors and guide them through selection, contracting, and onboarding
  • Support IDC scalability by identifying performance or capability gaps and recommending development solutions
  • Plan and confirm adequate vehicle and driver capacity, including ramping up and down
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with IDC partners and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor IDC KPIs and compliance, document interventions and action plans, and conduct performance reviews/QBRs
  • Maintain transparent communication with IDCs regarding policies, tools, services, operational expectations, and information sessions
  • Gather partner feedback and share insights with internal stakeholders
  • Address partner questions, concerns, and grievances through negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution
  • Engage regularly with delivery stations, frontline teams, and IDC partners to understand operational realities
  • Review performance indicators and field observations to identify risks, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities
  • Translate field insights into recommendations for Regional Operations and internal stakeholders
  • Develop action plans with IDCs and Operations and monitor follow-up actions
  • Challenge quality and capacity gaps and ensure training materials and management tools are available and used
  • Produce comprehensive analyses, executive summaries, and strategic recommendations
  • Support IDCs through policy changes, new technologies, operational initiatives, and performance-improvement plans
  • Train IDCs on compensation policies and tools, route productivity, and driver compensation models
  • Promote adoption of Intelcom tools and processes and escalate implementation roadblocks
  • Identify contractual, operational, and compliance risks and recommend mitigation or corrective actions
  • Follow up on corrective actions and apply escalation processes when issues remain unresolved
  • Maintain documentation of risks, commitments, escalations, and corrective actions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Human Resources, or a related field + 6 years work experience
  • Intermediate level: 3–5 years
  • Experience managing external partners, contractors, franchisees, or vendors
  • Strong background in performance management using KPIs and BI dashboards
  • Experience in negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder engagement
  • Exposure to capacity planning or operational workforce planning
  • Entrepreneurship or experience operating a small business
  • Vendor or franchise network management
  • HR or labor relations exposure, especially contractor models
  • Operations leadership in a fast-paced, field-based environment
  • High emotional intelligence and strong mediation skills
  • Strategic thinking with strong operational grounding
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and high-pressure environments
  • Strong integrity and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • Customer-centric mindset with resilience and adaptability
  • Bilingual French and English preferred for Quebec-based IDC Business Partners
  • Willingness to travel regularly
