About the role

  • Logistics Manager leading transportation, carrier relationships, and trade compliance for JBS Food Canada’s beef products. Driving cost reduction, operational efficiency, and reliable international delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the organization’s Performance Improvement plan and Operational Efficiency initiatives using a data-driven, results-oriented approach
  • Provide leadership for direct reports to maximize and optimize resources in support of company goals and customer service
  • Set and achieve performance goals using metrics for Productivity, Safety, Quality, and Customer Service
  • Oversee carrier contracts, negotiations, and relationships to provide competitive rates, programs, and customer service
  • Resolve internal problems or complaints and problems or complaints with carriers/customers
  • Plan, examine, analyze, and evaluate day-to-day operations in relation to procedures, quality standards, and customer expectations
  • Ensure quality shipment data from origin to end-delivery
  • Develop and oversee JBS policies, systems, and procedures supporting cost reduction and system utilization goals (KPIs)
  • Develop and maintain KPIs for quality, quantity, shipments, inventory, delivery times, transportation costs, and efficiency
  • Manage expenses to budget and forecast
  • Participate in and support business reviews with service providers; drive corrective actions when necessary
  • Review and research transportation vendors and programs to reduce, replace, and improve transportation costs

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or another related field preferred
  • 8 plus years of experience in Logistics; at least 5 years of team leadership experience
  • Experience with perishable goods
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system preferred
  • A proven track record in developing new processes and bringing about change and improvement without major disruption to the business
  • Strong people management and supervisory skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel; ability to tell a compelling story through data
  • Process driven mentality, with the ability to plan, be strategic, and execute operationally on a regular basis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to distill large amounts of information into concise summaries
