About the role
- Maintenance Supervisor leading maintenance, safety, and equipment reliability at JBS Food Canada’s Belleville meat-processing facility. Supervising unionized employees and preventive maintenance operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all maintenance operations within the facility
- Ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety and food safety standards
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to unionized maintenance employees
- Manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs
- Coordinate employee scheduling, performance management, attendance tracking, disciplinary processes, and performance evaluations
- Manage departmental budgets and control maintenance-related costs
- Foster a strong culture of health and safety
- Operate in accordance with CFIA, Health Canada, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada policies, HACCP requirements, and applicable standards
- Maintain high housekeeping standards in the maintenance department
- Work closely with production teams to support quality, customer service, and operational goals
- Support continuous improvement, equipment performance, and overall business success
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree/diploma, and/or possession of Journeyman certification in a related field
- More than 5+ years of progressive related engineering, maintenance and management experience
- Experience within the manufacturing sector, particularly within the food or meat processing sector
- Management experience, preferably within a unionized manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of WHMIS, labour relations, conflict resolution and communication
- Advanced analytical skills
- Use of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and project management software
