About the role
- 3rd Class Power Engineer operating boilers and ammonia refrigeration for JBS Canada’s beef processing facility in Brooks, Alberta. Maintaining safe, efficient plant operations and reducing energy consumption.
Responsibilities
- Ensure total care and control of the Boiler Room and associated ancillary equipment
- Ensure total care and control of a large ammonia refrigerated plant
- Conduct daily plant inspections of ammonia refrigeration and boiler systems
- Ensure all systems operate in a safe and efficient manner
- Record data and all relevant information related to plant operations under the Chief Engineer’s jurisdiction
- Reduce energy consumption, including gas, electricity, water, and ammonia usage
Requirements
- Valid ABSA Certified 3rd Class Power Engineering certificate
- Minimum 2 years of industrial experience
- Proven team leader and team player
- Commitment to excellence and positive attitude
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems
- Knowledge of natural gas-fired steam boiler systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
