About the role

  • Warehouse Supervisor managing daily operations and employee performance at JBS Food Canada's main facility in Brooks, Alberta. Responsible for inventory management, process improvements, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and schedules manpower, materials, product and machines to most effectively utilize departmental policies and procedures
  • Manage daily production inventory and meet required product specifications for both domestic and international customers
  • Manages employee performance, providing positive and/or corrective feedback
  • Direct hourly unionized employees for the efficient operation of the facility
  • Promotes department and company goodwill through pro-active employee communication and employee involvement
  • Identify and facilitate the implementation of process improvements and cost savings opportunities aligned with system utilization goals (KPIs)
  • Document and maintain accurate records with respect to employee performance, product quality, daily reconciliation, health and safety, and payroll
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and provide step by step guidance to production team members
  • Develop, lead and coach employees through effective training and recognition
  • Effective implementation and maintenance of the Company's safety program
  • Active involvement and leadership in the Continuous Improvement Program to achieve productivity improvements and waste reduction
  • Coordinate the team to properly organize the sequence of scheduled orders, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding products and/or hazardous materials
  • Conduct inventory counts

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of warehouse supervisory work experience
  • Effective communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict
  • Self-starter with good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Completion of College Diploma or equivalent is considered an asset
  • Flexible to work shifts
  • Attention to Details
  • Work Under Pressure
  • Knowledge of HACCP, Health & Safety concerns and GMP
  • Previous experience in a food processing industry is required.
  • Excellent English Oral and Written Communication
  • Criminal Record Check is required.
