About the role

  • Fire Sales Representative selling inspections, repairs, maintenance, and upgrades for Johnson Controls’ fire protection systems. Growing service opportunities across assigned Kingston and Ottawa accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell fire service offerings within assigned territory and accounts
  • Establish contact with prospects, qualify potential buyers, and follow up on leads using outlined marketing strategies
  • Identify customer needs for inspections, repairs, maintenance, upgrades, and system modifications
  • Develop sales strategies that support understanding of company service offerings
  • Close sufficient sales to exceed sales plan objectives
  • Apply applicable fire protection codes and standards when discussing service opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, general contractors, and end users
  • Estimate small projects, including day works as required
  • Develop new business relationships and help grow the Fire Service business
  • Manage prospecting, follow-up, and closing activity within the assigned territory
  • Respond quickly to customer service requirements
  • Collaborate with colleagues, customers, general contractors, and end users

Requirements

  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed
  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and organize work effectively
  • Proficient in personal computers, including Windows Office
  • Ability and willingness to work as a teammate and collaborate well with others
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints and understanding applicable fire protection codes and standards
  • Valid Full G Driver's Licence
  • Two years of fire protection industry experience (nice to have)
  • Previous experience estimating fire protection projects and service work (nice to have)
  • Technical knowledge of fire protection systems, including fire alarm, suppression, and related life safety systems (nice to have)
