About the role
- Forward Deployed Engineer configuring Kainos EDM and Workday HCM in live enterprise customer environments. Enabling adoption, resolving technical blockers, and guiding clients toward mature usage.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and optimise EDM and Workday configuration within live customer environments
- Identify and remediate configuration debt, performance constraints, and architectural limitations
- Resolve complex technical blockers and support escalation with detailed environment context
- Ensure technical continuity from implementation into the forward-deployed engagement
- Enable client administrators through knowledge transfer, configuration guides, integration documentation, and reusable templates
- Identify technical adoption risks and provide regular technical health summaries to Customer Success Managers
- Guide clients through the three-stage maturity model by removing technical friction
- Define and track account-specific maturity milestones with Customer Success Managers using adoption metrics and usage data
- Feed recurring configuration constraints, missing capabilities, and enterprise use cases back to the Product team
- Document account-level technical history and share reusable assets, resolved issues, and deployment patterns with fellow Forward Deployed Engineers
- Work across several Employee Document Management accounts concurrently as the technical enablement and adoption owner
Requirements
- HCM Workday certification
- Demonstrable hands-on experience leading Workday deployments and configuring live Workday environments
- Proven ability to work directly inside enterprise customer environments and build trusted technical relationships with client IT and HR operations teams
- Proven experience managing complex stakeholder environments
- Experience independently resolving complex integration and configuration challenges
- Strong communication skills to translate technical detail clearly for non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage concurrent work across multiple accounts with structured prioritisation
- Awareness of how technical adoption drives customer retention and long-term platform value
- Collaborative working style and commitment to knowledge sharing and team capability development
- Practical working knowledge of Kainos EDM, including configuration, document management, template design, workflow automation, and version management
- Experience in a forward deploy, embedded engineering, or technical account management role, ideally in a SaaS or enterprise software environment
- Familiarity with adjacent Workday modules including Recruiting, Learning, Talent, and Advanced Compensation
- Exposure to customer success metrics, adoption health scoring, or maturity frameworks
