About the role

  • Software Developer Co-op building software for Kardium’s atrial-fibrillation medical device systems. Automating data, monitoring systems, testing, and deploying regulated changes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, and maintain software used across product design, lifecycle management, supply chain, and quality engineering
  • Develop methods to monitor systems and analyze logs to alert administrators to issues
  • Design and implement internal software and custom reports to analyze data across multiple systems
  • Write scripts to automate data transformation and improve consistency and quality
  • Use AI prompting to generate scripts and database queries
  • Enhance and extend Product Data Management and Product Lifecycle Management systems using APIs
  • Participate in gathering user stories and requirements across teams
  • Author and execute manual and automated test plans
  • Perform software validation and deploy changes in a regulated environment

Requirements

  • Object-oriented programming skills, preferably with Java or C#
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell
  • Experience with source repositories, preferably with Git
  • Enthusiastic about finding innovative solutions to unforeseen challenges
  • Keen desire to help produce high quality code
  • Highly proactive and able to execute tasks with minimal instruction and guidance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • History of success working in a team setting
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Three separate PDF application documents: cover letter, resume, and most recent transcripts
  • Preferred: experience with relational databases such as SQL Server
  • Preferred: experience with test-driven development and unit testing frameworks
  • Preferred: experience developing web apps or desktop apps
  • Preferred: experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Preferred: ability to learn and use third-party APIs and libraries
